Medical Assistant
This is a new position being created in 2010. It is a great opportunity for an 18+ year old planning on pursuing a medical career. We will be selecting one candidate for each session.
This is not a counselor position. This position reports to the board and to the Doctor on call. Duties include assisting the Doctor, keeping the infirmary organized, taking care of minor medical issues with campers. The Medical Assistant will reside in the main ICC building.
Here are the requirements:
-Must be at least 18 years old when camp starts
-Must have completed and be currently certified by the Red Cross in “First Aid: Responding to Emergencies”.
-Life guard and other certifications a plus
-Must be at camp one day before camp session starts and one day after the session ends
-Stipend: $800

About Counselors
The Counselors and Jr. Counselors (ages 16-21) are the backbone of the entire Camp.
Counselors are chosen on the basis of their maturity, responsibility, and ability
to function well in leadership roles. Counselors are also called upon to assist
and teach many of the classes and activities during Camp. Ideally, we are looking
for an equal mix of 16, 17 and 18+ year old campers. We are also trying to have
a totally new set of counselors for each session to prevent burnout.
For this year, the counselor training and selection process is as follows.
- All counselor applications need to be sent to the address below.
- There will be 2 sessions of HHSC this year.
The counselor training for each session will happen during the week immediately
before the start of each session.
- Head counselors will be selected prior to counselor training and will arrive to
camp a couple of days before the rest of the counselors.

We are going to need a total of 24 counselors (12 boys and 12 girls) for each session.
These are some of the attributes considered when selecting counselors:
- Past counselor performance for returning counselors
- Number of years attended as a camper and/or counselor
- KYS experience
- Age (we would like an mix of 16, 17 and 18+ year old counselors)
- Special talents or skills. E.g. Knowledge of Hinduism, dancing or singing, Red cross
certifications
- Flexibility – ability to attend either session
Counselors are expected to get to camp before their training starts and to attend
the full session of camp and leave one day after their session is complete. If you
