Our Mission
Hindu children are the inheritors of one of the greatest cultural, religious, and
spiritual traditions of the world. However, Hindu children growing up in Western
societies are often not aware of this great inheritance. The purpose of Hindu Heritage
Summer Camp, Inc., is to provide an opportunity for Hindu youth, ages 8 to 16, to
explore and understand the diverse traditions and philosophies of Hinduism in an
intellectual, nurturing, and fun-filled environment. HHSC is dedicated to helping
Hindu youth discover and reconcile what it means to be Hindu American.

Our Camp
Although the priority of HHSC is to expose our youth to the richness of Hinduism,
we by no means neglect our childrens' desires for 'fun in the sun'! While Camp mornings
are devoted to yoga, puja, philosophy, and Sanskrit, our afternoons are teeming
with exciting sports, creative arts and crafts, and other fun-filled activities.
In the evenings, there are a variety of programs such as dances, concerts, camp
fires, and special pujas. Through all of these educational and joyous interactions,
our children build friendships that last a lifetime. HHSC is an experience that
your children will never forget. We invite you to join our family of happy Campers.
In addition to our curriculum being unique and effective, the most important feature
of HHSC is our programming and teaching staff of motivated young adults. As many
of us know, parents face great challenges in teaching Hindu traditions and philosophy
to their children. However, when the preceptors are young adults, the children are
much more amenable and enthusiastic to learn, accept and respect the same teachings.
Please be assured that while our young adult Counselors are in charge of programming,
teaching, and caring for the children, there is always ample adult supervision throughout
the Camp day.
